Streamline AI, the AI operating platform for in-house legal teams, today announced that co-founder and CEO Kathy Zhu has won a 2026 Herizon Award honoring founders and visionaries who have transformed an industry. Presented by the Business Intelligence Group, the award recognizes women who are changing how the world works.

Zhu spent a decade practicing law, including building DoorDash’s commercial legal and legal operations functions as the company grew from 1,000 to more than 15,000 employees. She led teams through the demands Streamline AI now addresses, including rising workloads, fragmented systems, and time spent coordinating requests instead of applying legal expertise.

That experience served as the catalyst for Streamline AI, which Zhu co-founded with CTO Julian Wimbush. Drawing on years of building and running legal operations, she built a platform that gives teams the infrastructure to manage work across the entire function, build on previous decisions, and contribute faster to business priorities.

In April 2026, Zhu led Streamline’s expansion from an AI-powered Intake and Matter Management System into a first-of-its-kind AI Operating Platform for In-House Legal powered by interconnected agents. The platform connects intake, workflows, contracts, and collaboration, applying each team’s institutional knowledge to route requests, surface risk, and advance work across commercial, employment, regulatory, and litigation matters.

Streamline AI is now used by more than 1,000 lawyers. Customers include Horizon3, 8×8, Gusto, and Bloom Energy, with reported results ranging from savings of up to 60 minutes per legal request to more than a twofold acceleration in time to revenue.

“Every legal team is bogged down by meaningless admin and often can’t get to the work that would actually drive the business forward,” said Kathy Zhu, co-founder and CEO of Streamline AI. “I’ve been the lawyer who wanted to do more and couldn’t with the tools available to me. We’re building Streamline so teams can create more capacity, whether it’s bringing more work in-house or getting involved before a decision becomes an urgent request. It’s an honor to build this alongside our customers and team, and to see what legal teams can accomplish with the support I once needed myself.”

Zhu’s vision also extends to how legal teams build expertise over time. With processes, precedents, and decisions captured in a connected system, each matter contributes knowledge the team can use again. The capacity that creates gives lawyers more room to shape business decisions and take on work that previously stayed out of reach.
